International Eisteddfod, Llangollen
The International Eisteddfod takes place annually in the town of Llangollen in North Wales. Around 2,500 entrants from across the world enter this multicultural competition, resulting in colorful and wide-ranging themes and performances. Each year, the Sunday evening gala concert is attended by famous singers who have included Pavarotti, Kiri Te Kanawa, Lesley Garrett, Bryn Terfel, Dennis O'Neil, James Galway, Hayley Westenra, Jose Carreras and Montserrat Caballe. National Eisteddfod
The National Eisteddfod is a spectacular showcase of welsh culture - the largest festival of competitive music and poetry in Europe. Many of the performances will take place in welsh. The 2010 competition is set to include almost 500 performances in total including visual arts, dance, drama and film, brass bands, folk songs and literature.

Abergavenny Food Festival and Fringe Festival
Abergavenny is considered by many to be the "foodie capital" of Wales as it offers a year-round monthly farmers' market (fourth Thursday of each month) as well as a weekly general and food market on Saturdays. The town also boasts plentiful restaurants and shops, and a growing selection of artisan food makers. The town is set against the mountains of Skirrid, Sugar Loaf and Blorenge, at the edge of the Brecon Beacons National Park.
