For visitors looking for a environmentally friendly, hassle-free way to travel, this is the way to do it. Let the train take the strain, I say. You can enjoy a glass or two of Wales' famous single malt Penderyn Whisky and enjoy the scenery on the way to the next course.
A new initiative to encourage golfers to travel by train to 12 golf courses served by the Cambrian Railways was launched in November 2009. As part of the scheme 12 participating golf clubs near the Cambrian network have agreed to provide a discount to those who travel to them by train.
All you need to do is show your train ticket at participating golf courses to receive the 10% discount, which include Royal St Davids and Aberdovey golf clubs.
